Salim Habib University proudly congratulates Isra Qadir and Rameen Zubaida, students of the Department of Biomedical Engineering, on securing 1st Position at the Arduino Innovation Hackathon 2026, held on July 29, 2026. The hackathon was organized by the Department of Electronics Engineering, Mehran University of Engineering & Technology (MUET), Jamshoro, in collaboration with the IEEE Karachi Section Student Activities Committee (SAC), IEEE Industrial Electronics Society (IES), IEEE Solid-State Circuits Society (SSCS), IEEE SIGHT, IEEE Communications Society (ComSoc), and IEEE Microwave Theory and Technology Society (MTT-S).

The team developed VOIXLINK – Giving Voice to Every Gesture, an innovative wearable assistive communication system that enables individuals with speech and motor impairments to communicate more effectively through gesture-based interaction. The winning model was supervised by Ms. Fakhra Jalal, Research & Teaching Associate, Faculty of Engineering, SHU.
