First-year students Muhammad Sami, Ayesha Tanveer, and Usman Hayat of the Robotics and Intelligent Systems (RIS) program at Salim Habib University participated in the Indus RAS Expo 2026, Pakistan’s national platform for Robotics and Autonomous Systems (RAS), held at the Pakistan-China Friendship Centre, Islamabad, from July 22 to 23, 2026.
The students presented their project, “Aero-Scout Rover: Bird Strike Mitigation System,” which addresses the critical aviation safety challenge of bird strikes, which pose a significant risk to aircraft operations, passenger safety, and airport infrastructure.
The innovative project was supervised by Mr. Mirza Areeb Baig, Research & Teaching Associate, Salim Habib University.
